This page is the canonical home for electrical landing facts: stud sizes, terminal styles, lug-hole families, and the current cable-end map implied by the accepted electrical architecture on Electrical.
Use this page when deciding which ring lugs to buy, which runs terminate as bare conductor instead of lugs, and which landings still require field proof before purchase.

Passenger-side and roof/center 24V -> 12V converter input/output terminations |
bare conductor into the non-binding-post IP20 terminal body | Victron's dimension drawing distinguishes ORI241270020 as the plain IP20 converter and ORI241270030 as the IP20 / Binding posts variant; the converter manual instructs the installer to connect the cables to the Orion terminals |
no ring lug at device | 6 AWG current direction |
accepted planning direction with doc-backed terminal-style basis | Keep the service-converter rows on the selected ORI241270020 terminal-body variant unless the build deliberately changes to the binding-post SKU. |
Victron SmartSolar 150/45 battery and PV power |

| Victron Lynx Shunt VE.Can M10 external cable landings | planning assumption accepted despite one conflicting local-manual line | The local manual still says connected cables need M8 lugs, but Victron's current technical-spec page says Busbar = M10, and the current system-design page says batteries, loads, and chargers can connect directly to the Lynx interconnections when the module is first, last, or standalone. Victron's own 2024-08-01 M10 launch note also says the M10 refresh exists to provide more robust M10 connections. |
The remaining risk is documentary, not planning-directional: the locally indexed manual still contains one contradictory M8 cable lugs line. |
Current accepted planning assumption is: heavy external battery/load cables on the M10 shunt use the M10 / 3/8 in interconnection joints, while the internal fuse / fuse-dummy position remains M8. Preserve the contradiction as a residual note, but do not let it block lug purchase or layout planning. |
| Victron Lynx Distributor M10 branch landings | resolved distinction between inter-module joints and branch cable landings | Victron's current Distributor intro page explicitly says M10 refers to the busbar connection joints where modules connect to each other, and that fuse and cable connections are always M8. The technical-spec page remains consistent with Busbar = M8 or M10 and Fuses = M8. |
Only the exact count per branch remains, not the stud family. | Treat all Distributor fused branch cable landings as M8 / 5/16 in, and treat the M10 designation as inter-module-joint only. |
Rear Ford GP29-31 chassis-bond landing |
planning assumption accepted from external Ford/forum evidence, with physical fit still open | The Ford 2022MY body guide does close the location family: GP29, GP30, and GP31 are all Bodyside Rear RHS Misc Power Electric ground points on van / wagon bodies. External Ford BEMM mirrors and community discussion around the same Transit ground-point family point toward an M6 fixing, which implies a 1/4 in lug family. The same guide also says upfit ground wires should return to Ford-provided ground points on Transit, while E-Transit 12V upfitters should create a new body or chassis ground point instead. |
The saved local Ford PDF still does not expose the exact stud diameter, thread, stack-up room, or allowed eyelet count for GP29-31, so physical fit and hardware stack-up remain open even though the working lug-hole family is now assumed. |
Because this build is a 2025 Transit Cargo Van XL, not an E-Transit, GP29-31 remains a valid Ford location family. Current working assumption is vehicle-side 1/4 in lug hole, but still capture the actual stud and fit on Measurements before final install. |
| Mini-split equipment-side power termination | delivered-unit hardware still not fully documented | Current branch package is exact enough on breaker family and upstream cable band | Exact equipment-side landing style, lead size, and whether the unit wants lugs, ferrules, or a supplied pigtail splice still depends on the delivered unit | Close this with the mini-split proof package on Measurements. |
| Front premium-node shared return / feed trunk | architecture exact, cut list not yet exact | The front node is accepted as 2127 + 2x 7720 with the combined node returning into the rear architecture |
Exact cable count, exact conductor family at both ends, and therefore exact heavy-lug count for that shared trunk still depends on the final front-node package capture | Close this on Measurements when the driver-seat pedestal mounting surface and trunk route are captured. |
This is the current branch-by-branch landing map implied by the accepted architecture. The table shows what each cable end wants today, not a final cut list.

Ford GP29-31 or dedicated stud |
1/0 AWG |
1x M8 / 5/16 in at Distributor, 1x 1/4 in at vehicle side |
accepted planning assumption with physical-fit hold | Current working assumption is an M6 / 1/4 in Ford-side lug family, but actual stud fit and stack-up still belong to Measurements. |
This section is intentionally split into buy now and hold so the build does not overbuy the wrong stud family.
These families are source-backed enough to buy without waiting on more research:
| Lug family | Current minimum buy direction | Why it is safe now |
|---|---|---|
1/0 AWG x 3/8 in tinned closed-barrel lugs |
10 |
Covers the Lynx Class-T, 9003e, the accepted M10 / 3/8 in shunt assumption, and the protected-positive loop family, with spare stock left over from the now-optional 2104 busbar architecture. |
1/0 AWG x 1/4 in tinned closed-barrel lugs |
2 |
Covers the working GP29-31 Ford chassis-bond assumption with one installed lug and one spare. |
1/0 AWG x M8 / 5/16 in tinned closed-barrel lugs |
10 |
Covers the battery-series jumper, battery main takeoffs, MultiPlus battery leads, and the Lynx Distributor ground-connection side of the chassis bond, with minimal spare. |
6 AWG x 5/16 in tinned closed-barrel lugs |
10 |
Covers the two Orion outputs to the front 2127, roof MPPT positive and negative to the second Lynx Distributor, the shared front alternator-charge return pair into the second Distributor, both Lynx-to-Orion feeder positives and negatives, and a small spare. |
6 AWG x 1/4 in tinned closed-barrel lugs |
4 |
Covers the 7184 mini-split breaker pair and leaves spare for any local-reset / disconnect revision. |
8 AWG x 5/16 in tinned closed-barrel lugs |
8 |
Covers the two 2127 -> 7720 premium jumpers and leaves spare for the premium-branch outputs or front-node revisions. |
Do not buy these exact lug calls yet:
| Lug family or hardware | Why it is still on hold |
|---|---|
| Final Ford chassis-bond hardware stack-up | The working vehicle-side lug family is now 1/4 in, but exact stud fit, eyelet count, nut/thread engagement, and corrosion-finish stack-up are still a field capture. |
| Mini-split equipment-side termination hardware | Exact unit-side lead style is still a delivered-unit proof item. |
| Front-node shared return/feed trunk lugs | Exact trunk execution and conductor family are still tied to the final front-node package capture. |
These are the remaining questions that could not be closed from the indexed manuals plus official product pages alone:
GP29-31 stud size, usable stack-up room, and whether the preferred 1/4 in lug assumption actually supports a clean bond package.2026-05-27 after reconciling the current electrical architecture against the local Victron, Blue Sea, Marinco, and Leviton source set plus current official Blue Sea product pages for the remaining missing stud facts.2026-05-27 after the user explicitly directed that the Lynx Shunt be treated as an M10 system for planning and procurement, so the shunt-side heavy-lug family is no longer a buy hold.
