Rixen support was emailed on 2026-05-18 requesting the official floor layout, assembly sheet, or numbered piece map for SKU J10-148L because the CNC floor kit includes many small pieces. Michael Rixen replied on 2026-05-18 with the Artek/Columbia install sheet and TRN-Special-Notes.pdf; the special-notes page is the loose-piece placement map for the Transit floor. On 2026-05-19, a draft email was prepared to Artek/Columbia at sales@artek.energy before the Rixen reply was found; do not send that draft unless the Rixen attachments prove insufficient.

The floor kit product page says PEX pipe and PEX connections are sold separately, but the purchased Rixen CNC heated floor product page says the floor itself includes PEX pipe.
Rixen's Columbia-specific floor heat kit (G56b) lists the transition parts needed for the 3/8 in Columbia floor loop: P16-104 3/8 in SharkBite x 1/2 in MPT, quantity 2, and P23-112 3/4 in hose barb x 1/2 in FPT, quantity 2. The confirmed order record says G56a, and the received parts appear to be the generic floor kit tees, threaded barbs, clamps, and reducers, not the 3/8 in PEX transition fittings. Decision on 2026-05-19: buy the Rixen push-fit adapter stack, P16-104 x2 and P23-112 x2.
The on-hand Milwaukee 2532-20 tool is a ProPEX/F1960 expansion tool. The floor PEX item number is confirmed as Bluefin TU038-300-R, a 3/8 in red PEX-b tube listed for clamp, PEX compression, crimp, push-fit, and PEX press systems, not expansion. Do not plan to use the Milwaukee expansion tool on this floor PEX unless the actual printed tube markings explicitly list ASTM F1960 or ProPEX expansion compatibility.

Official product: Ford Transit EL SRW 148" WB Heated Floor (Gen 2 w/ 5 way exits), SKU J10-148L.
Confirmed product facts:
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Vehicle fit | Ford Transit EL SRW 148 in wheelbase. |
| Substructure | CNC-routed 3/4 in fiberglass-reinforced closed-cell foam, cut into dovetail-locking segments. |
| Overlay | CNC-mapped 1/4 in wood overlay with engraved mapping for PEX and aluminum heat-transfer plates. |
| Included heating materials | Aluminum heat-transfer plates, adhesive, and 100 ft of 3/8 in PEX pipe per Columbia/JRD install sheet. |
| Adhesive identity | Artek's current Columbia Hydronic Flooring System collection lists Loctite Teroson MS 5510 Adhesive/Sealant - 300ml Cartridge; Artek's adhesive product page lists SKU ART-1560557-LOC / Henkel MPN 1560557 for black and SKU ART-1562042-LOC for white. |
| Adhesive alternatives | Teroson MS 5510 is the current documented/default product. Reasonable substitutes should be elastic vehicle/RV assembly adhesives with good gap filling, high elongation, moisture cure, and compatibility with painted steel plus GRP/fiberglass/plastics/wood. Sikaflex-552 AT is the closest chemistry match because it is a silane-terminated polymer vehicle-assembly adhesive; Sikaflex-252 is a common vehicle assembly polyurethane adhesive candidate. Avoid generic solvent construction adhesive, hard-setting panel adhesive, silicone caulk, or spray adhesive for this floor bond unless Artek/Rixen approves it. |
| Adhesive quantity | Not specified in the Rixen order email, Rixen product page, Artek product page, Campervan HQ product page, Columbia/JRD install sheet, or located community notes. Audit the physical kit first. If no adhesive shipped, estimate 8 x 300 ml cartridges as the practical starting quantity and 10 x 300 ml as the no-stop install quantity; 12 is only an unusually conservative margin for heavy low-point/seam filling. Buy only the difference after counting on-hand cartridges. |
| Transit-specific floor parts | Additional support pucks for low points on the factory floor per Columbia/JRD install sheet. |
| Exits | Gen 2 floor with 5 possible plumbing exits. |
| Insulation note | Rixen product page says no additional floor insulation or butyl mat is needed. |
| Exit tail note | Install sheet says to leave 2 ft of excess PEX pipe while pressing the PEX into the floor. |
| Transit special notes | Rixen email attachment TRN-Special-Notes.pdf shows the loose-piece placement map for 148 Transit floors. |
| 90-degree / L-shaped pieces | L-shims place along the step edge; mirrored copy set on the opposite side. |
| Larger loose piece | Extra piece for step upgrade; if using the standard step, the special-notes page says it is not needed. |
| Long shim pieces | Shims are placed in open spaces between factory ribs; the special-notes page shows suggested placement. |
| Current support contact | Artek page lists sales@artek.energy and (503) 208-6288. |
Detailed design notes, diagrams, and install sequencing live on Rixen Design and Installation Plan.
Current concept:
The Rixen floor loop does not need to run just because domestic hot water is being made. The MCS7 controller has a floor heat function, and the floor kit includes its own pump and mixing valve. With the floor function off, the floor pump should not circulate through the radiant loop, so the ComfortHot tank and domestic hot water heat exchanger can still be used without intentionally heating the floor.
